Pain Management and Arthritis
- We have conducted a variety of trials in analgesia that act centrally on the nervous system
- We have performed First in Man studies for drugs intended to treat rheumatoid arthritis including dose escalation and bioavailability studies. In addition to these, various anti-inflammatory preparations have been tested for bioavailability, drug interactions, safety and tolerability.
- We have facilitated trials which have looked into tamper proof formulations, anti-abuse preparations and food/diet interactions.
- We are in close proximity to three of the tertiary care hospitals in Northern Ireland and Supplementary Accreditation makes us a very practical and safe place for conducting trials for drugs involving actions on the CNS.
- Our volunteer database comprises 10,000 Healthy Volunteer subjects and a sizeable RA database, which is readily boosted when the need arises through BioKinetic advertising campaigns.
- We have access to Consultant Specialists in Anaesthesia and Pain Management and work closely with Rheumatology specialist Dr. Gary Meenagh in the recruitment of arthritic volunteers. For more details, visit: rheumdoc.com
- We have utilized a wide range of drug delivery routes that include capsule, transdermal, sublingual, intravenous (bolus doses and infusions), intramuscular and subcutaneous.
- Our in-house pharmacist is expert in devising novel blinding methods and is Project Manager on opioid analgesic trials, to allow immediate communication between sponsor and unit regarding progress in studies; particularly relevant in those involving rapid dose escalation.
- BioKinetic has successfully completed all studies to the required standard and timelines as set out at study initiation. Repeat clients account for over 80% of our business.
- We have conducted over 40 studies in pain management and arthritis to date.
