BioKinetic was delighted to be awarded Best Poster Presentation at the EUFEMED 2017 conference last week.
The award was made based on the informative content and original layout of the poster, as well as a presentation given by one of our Research Physicians, Dr Neil Fawkes.
The poster entitled 'A new approach to the performance evaluation of new blood glucose monitoring systems in the hypoglycaemic range for regulatory approval', focuses on the objectives, methodology and results of how BioKinetic have adapted a glucose clamp to test BGMS to an ISO standard. Within the study, 19 patients successfully completed the hypoglycemic glucose clamps to achieve a stable glucose level with no significant adverse events. The study proved that the glucose clamp approach is successful for the evaluation of BGMS performance under controlled conditions at hypoglycaemic levels. The methodology used is safe, reproducible and can be performed over a short period of time.
The sponsor was delighted with the results of the trial, and as such, two of the products have been FDA approved and are now on the market after testing them using this method. Click here to download the poster.
